Jewellery is not a toy and should not be treated as such, we strongly recommend that your child is supervised at all times while wearing jewellery. If you are buying jewellery for a child under 3 years of age, we recommend that you read the following safety guidelines;
- Any type of beaded jewellery is not recommended for children under 3 years of age, due to the small parts posing a choking hazard,
- Do not allow any child to wear jewellery when they are playing or sleeping as it may cause a strangulation or choking hazard,
- Do not allow children to put jewellery in their mouth at any time, especially jewellery that contains crystal or glass beads or components,
- We do not recommend glass or crystal jewellery for children under 3 years of age or at any age, if your child puts jewellery in their mouth. Glass and crystal can easily be broken by placing it in their mouth,
- Our childrens earrings are not suitable for wear during the healing period after ear piercing (can be up to 6 weeks),
- When fitting post earrings on your child, please be careful when pushing the earrings backs onto the post, ensuring that they are not too tight or too loose or feel uncomfortable during wear. We recommend that you check the earrings backs regularly while your little one is wearing them,
- We recommend regular cleaning of our earrings in a little warm water and mild soap. Dry thoroughly in a soft cotton cloth before wearing. Regular cleaning will help prevent ear infections,
- Your child’s jewellery may become too tight for them as they grow, please check the fit regularly to prevent issues. Never allow your child to wear jewellery that is too small for them.
